Tooth whitening is an extremely popular and safe method for achieving a brighter and whiter smile.
After an initial consultation, we will inform you which method is most suited to your needs. This may involve a home kit, where impressions are taken for fabrication of vacuum formed bleaching trays - these are filled with dental bleach and worn for a period of time. Modern bleaching systems require only 1 hour of use per day and no longer necessitate being worn overnight.
Typically, the trays will be worn for 10-14 days to achieve a great result.
Tooth whitening can also be done in the surgery. This involves the use of a stronger concentration of bleach which is painted onto the teeth and left for a period of time before being washed away. Typically this would involve a repeated process and a 2 hour timeframe. However, we have invested in a brand new system which can be completed in only 20 minutes.
So you can now have whiter teeth in your coffee break or lunchtime!
Often, the way to achieve the desired result is a combination of both systems with initial in-surgery bleaching followed by the use of a home kit. We always advise the use of bleaching trays for ongoing maintenance in order to top up levels when required. This means that all you require is further bleaching gel when you run out, which we will be able to supply you with.
